Our Story
The idea for Zacharias was inspired by the Australian coffee scene, specifically Melbourne, which has gained a reputation as a global coffee destination. It has led the “third wave”, moving away from chains and towards small local cafes. Today Melbourne celebrates a thriving cafè-culture, with great customer service, craftsmanship and a dedication uncompromising quality.
Interesting Fact: when Starbucks entered the Melbourne market in 2000, it struggled to compete with local businesses and to adapt to the preferences of Australian coffee drinkers. By 2008, it had closed most of its Australian stores, including many in Melbourne, after significant financial losses.
While inspiration came from down under, Zacharias at its core, is rooted in our love for the timeless charm of Italian café culture. Our aim is to revive and relive the spirit of the classic Italian cafébar - where people gather for a quick chat, an espresso or a glass of wine, a small snack, or a moment of pause - and bring it into the present with a modern commitment to community, hospitality and craft.
“Every cup is a masterpiece, fresh and flavorful”
